Certificate Course in Nanobiotechnology

Course Overview

Nanobiotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that integrates nanotechnology with biology, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, medicine, and materials science. It involves the design, synthesis, characterisation, and application of nanomaterials for diagnostics, drug delivery, therapeutics, biosensing, agriculture, environmental remediation, and industrial biotechnology. Biological systems, including microorganisms, plants, fungi, and algae, as well as biomolecules, are increasingly employed in the green synthesis of nanoparticles, making nanobiotechnology an environmentally sustainable technology.

This course provides theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to nanoparticle synthesis, characterisation techniques, biomedical applications, biosensors, nanotoxicology, and regulatory aspects. The curriculum is suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate life science students.

What Will You Learn?

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

1. Understand the principles and scope of nanobiotechnology.

2. Explain the properties and classification of nanomaterials.

3. Describe physical, chemical, and biological methods of nanoparticle synthesis.

4. Perform green synthesis of nanoparticles using biological systems.

5. Understand nanoparticle characterisation techniques.

6. Explain biomedical, environmental, agricultural, and industrial applications of nanobiotechnology.

7. Develop basic laboratory skills in nanoparticle synthesis and analysis.

Certificate

Students who complete the course requirements and assessments will receive a Savitr Bioscience Certificate of Completion in Water Quality and Microbial Analysis.

The certificate recognises successful completion of the course and participation in its prescribed learning and practical components. It should not be interpreted as a statutory, regulatory, professional, or government-issued certification unless separately approved under the applicable framework.
